Delft is without doubt worth visiting. This university town offers plenty of history and culture. It’s lovely to stroll along the old canals and buildings. In the intimate streets you will find boutiques, cosy pubs and restaurants. How the famous ‘Delft Blue’ is baked and painted, you can see in various workshops. For example, that of ‘De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles’ (The Royal Delft), on the Rotterdamseweg. Museum Lambert van Meerten shows tiles and tile tableaus from the 16th to 18th century. Furthermore, the Technology Museum is a must for anyone who wants to work himself. The Ethnography Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and Military Museum are fascinating to watch. William of Orange was assasinated by Balthazar Gerards in the “Prinsenhof” in 1584. The bullet hole in the wall of the “Prinsenhof” is still visible.
